SPECIFICATION SPECIFICATION FOR STEEL PIPE Steel pipe to conform to NZS 4442:2004. Section 3: Information to be supplied by purchaser and manufacturer. 3.1 The following information shall be supplied by the purchaser with his enquiry. 3.11 Steel Shell (a) The outside diameter of the pipe is to be 345 mm. (b) The required wall thickness of the pipes is 3.2mm. (c) The total length of straight pipe required is: 1668 m for Part One. 1368 m for Part Two. (d) All pipes to be 12 metres in length. (e) The joints shall be spigot and socket joints. 3.11 Coating and Lining (a) Concrete lining is required. (b) No additional coating is required. (c) Pipes should be polyken tape wrapped. 3.14 Additional Information (a) The pipes should be able to resist a working pressure of 20 bar. (b) The external load conditions are those of normal light traffic conditions. (c) The test pressure which will be applied to the bare pipes is 25 bar. (d) The misalignment permitted in 108.4 shall apply to the inside surface of the pipe. (e) A certificate in accordance with section 5 is required. (f) Reinforcement of the coating is not required. (g) Separate quantities of the coating or lining are not required. (h) Thicker concrete lining is not required.
