Maize Starch is commonly known as Corn Starch.

It stops ink from penetrating into the paper making the surface firm for writing or Printing. Corn Starch is used as an adhesive in pigmented coating for paper and paper board. The primary purpose of Maize starch is to form a coating which enhances printability and appearance of the paper.
