Turkey is the leading cultivator of quinces in the world. Quinces grow in sandy,
loamy, warm and permeable soil. They can be cultivated in almost every region which
has an altitude between 10 m and 1000 m. Their production is based on seeds and
grafts. They are delicious served raw with a light sprinkle of salt. Otherwise they
can be rendered to a paste and served on a cheese platter.

Its fruit is rich and abundant in terms of pectin, tannin, sugar, organic acid,
vitamin A and C, mineral salt.
