Terpinyl acetate is a hydrophobic, citrusy, sweet, lavender-like oil which is soluble in
common organic solvents and oils. It is primarily used as an odorant for soaps,
deodorants, shampoos, hair conditioners, detergents, fabric softeners, incense,
candles, floor polish, household cleaners, pot pourri, etc.
It is also used as bait for insects.
