content (the primary aromatic compound in cloves) significantly higher than Indonesian or
Zanzibar commodity cloves. The specific combination of Kerala's monsoon climate, basalt-
rich soil, and the traditional drying practices of Thalanad farmers produces a clove with
deeper, more complex flavour and higher essential oil yield than any commercially available
alternative.
