Microcrystalline wax is obtained from petroleum distillation residual heavy fractions by
solvent separation,
refining and hydrogenation. It is a combination of branched and straight chain saturated
hydrocarbons with
carbon numbers greater than 35. Unlike paraffin waxes, microcrystalline waxes are elastic,
high viscosity, with a
greater affinity for oil. Food grade Microcrystalline wax pe is widely used in chewing gum,
cosmetic and dental
materials.
